Under My Hat - April, 2009

Our new space It has happened. We have our new space. Wow! It took a long time, but perhaps the wait has made us appreciate it more. We closed early on March 12 for the big move. We had over 30 volunteers work like beavers for the big transformation. We have several small transformations coming in the near future as we complete the inside work and do some building repairs.

Building purchase

As many of you know, we are in the process of buying our building. The closing date has been postponed a bit; probably it will be sometime in April. This is a big step for us.

I, on behalf of the board, want to thank you members and shoppers for all your support of the building remodeling and purchase. Many people have offered gifts and loans, as well as participated in “round-up at the register.” Your support allows our co-op to continue to be a vibrant part of our community.

Mayfest

Mayfest is scheduled for the second weekend in May—yes, Mother’s Day weekend. On Saturday, May 9, we will have a grand opening to celebrate our new space (Plant Sale, Mini-fair, Dance).

Of course, you will be looking for plants as the weather warms up. Our first order of bedding plants (cool-weather plants) will arrive the last weekend in April. The rest of the plants will arrive a couple of weeks later. Start planning your garden now—soon the tulips and daffodils will brighten our yards and inspire us even more!
