Teddy’s Gluten-free Custard

Here's a gluten-free version of a favorite comfort food, from HPC employee Susan Firestone.

Ridiculously Easy Chocolate Ice Cream

With just 10 minutes of work, you can make creamy chocolate ice cream without an ice cream machine.

Seriously. What’s the secret?

  • Sweetened condensed milk gives your ice cream a velvety texture.
  • Melting the chocolate in your microwave saves time and hassle.
  • Folding in whipped cream produces a fluffy “churned” consistency.
  • Bittersweet chocolate enhances the texture. Instant coffee (or espresso) powder balances the sweetness of the condensed milk without a coffee taste.
  • A pinch of salt and a little vanilla round out the flavors.

This recipe makes one quart. If you plan to store the ice cream for more than a few days, place plastic wrap directly on its surface before freezing.

Chocolate Ice Cream

It's ridiculously easy! No double boiler, no ice cream machine, no fuss!
